Wilshire Visioning Process

Wilshire, who are we? What is God calling us to do in this time and place? How can our capabilities and resources be faithfully stewarded toward that end? Wilshire’s Visioning Team was selected from the congregation in February 2026 and has been prayerfully working to help Wilshire answer these questions. Visioning Survey closes Sept. 20

Wilshire’s Visioning Team needs to hear from you! Please fill out our survey by Sept. 20 as we strive to answer the questions “Who are we?” and “What is God calling us to do in this time and place?”

The survey should take about 15 minutes. We hope you will give thoughtful attention to this essential piece of our gathering of congregational input. Hard copies are available in the church office.

Sept. 13 is Visioning Day

Sunday, Sept. 13, is Visioning Day, your chance to participate in a small group discussion as part of our Visioning process. This is an open table, and we look forward to hearing from you as we consider these questions:

• How would you describe Wilshire to someone unfamiliar with our church?
• Why do you drive by other churches to come to Wilshire?
• What atmosphere do we tend to create when our people get together?
• If Wilshire were immediately uprooted from the community, what would people in the Dallas area feel is missing?

Sessions will be held in Community Hall at 
9 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Choose the time that works best for you. Sessions will last 45 to 60 minutes.

Refreshments will be provided for all sessions, with a box lunch available at 12:15.

Long-distance members and anyone not present Sept. 13 can join a Zoom session on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 5:30 p.m. central. We will post the Zoom link on this page earlier that day.

The “Church Unique” Visioning Process

The Visioning Team is utilizing the Church Unique process as a primary guide for this work. A primary tool within that process for vision discernment is the Kingdom Concept. Current Visioning Team efforts are oriented toward gathering information to help answer three questions about Wilshire:

Collective Potential: What are the unique resources and capabilities that God brings together in us?

Apostolic Esprit: What particular focus most energizes and animates our leadership?

Local Predicament: What are the unique needs and opportunities where God has placed us?

Visioning Team artificial intelligence (A.I.) use statement:

A.I. is used only in clerical tasks such as note taking, transcription and initial sorting of data. It is never used in the synthesis of data or formation of final product.

All A.I.-assisted material is reviewed, evaluated and edited by the Visioning Team. All final deliverables will be produced exclusively by humans.

Any A.I.-assisted material will be labeled as such in the final, detailed report from the Visioning Team.
