Katie Murray to lead pastoral care; Heather Mustain adds more administrative oversight as Geri McKenzie departs
Some Wilshire staff members are taking on new responsibilities and areas of supervision with the departure of Geri McKenzie, who officially vacates the position of executive director of administration this month.
Associate Pastor Heather Mustain will now oversee finance and hospitality, including building operations, food services, facilities and information technology. Heather will still lead Wilshire’s missions and advocacy efforts, and she will continue supervising Missions and Advocacy Coordinator Abbey Adcox, Communications Director Mark McKenzie and Coordinator of Congregational Life Carolyn Murray.
Pastoral care leadership will move from Heather to Katie Murray, who will get a new title, Minister of Pastoral Care and to Senior Adults. Katie will add hours but will still be classified as part-time. Parish Nurse Linda Garner, who previously reported to Heather, will now report to Katie.
Holly Irvin, director of hospitality, will take on some operations and building tasks formerly handled by Geri. Senior Pastor Timothy Peoples will oversee human resources with administrative help from Chelsea Hopkins, who will also be the first point of contact for IT matters.
Administrative staffers who reported to Geri will now report directly to the lead minister in their respective areas. This includes Carol Cabaniss, music and worship; Carole McClung, spiritual formation; Barbara Clayton, pastoral care; and Chelsea Hopkins, executive assistant to Timothy Peoples.
