Pathways to Ministry Committee Update – Meredith Mosley, Chair, Pathways to Ministry Committee.
Having made the decision not to call new pastoral residents this year, the Pathways to Ministry Committee has begun visioning work in order to relaunch the pastoral residency program in 2024. This summer the committee will break into sub-committees for in-depth analysis of various aspects of the program. The larger group will reconvene this fall to outline initiatives and begin recruitment of two residents to join us next year. We ask for your prayers as we plan for the future of our pastoral residency program.
As for our current residents, Brianna Childs, whom we will bless during worship on April 23, is completing her residency in May and will move to Houston after her wedding to Blake Davenport. John Kelly will complete his residency in August and will remain at Wilshire as a McIver Fellow for the remainder of 2023.
Another area of Pathways is our summer internship program which begins next month. We hope you will welcome and encourage our four summer interns who will be working in the areas of preschool, children, youth and music. Their names will be announced in the coming weeks.
