We are almost there!
Words cannot fully express my gratitude to you — and to our entire congregation — for your generous and faithful giving toward our 2025 Unified Budget. Because of your commitment, we are so close to reaching our goal. We still have $142,976 to go.
This is my final appeal for those who have not yet had the opportunity to give. If you are able, I invite you to help us cross the finish line as we work together to fully fund the ministry and mission God has entrusted to us for the year ahead.
For your convenience, here are the remaining ways to give so that your gift may be counted toward 2025:
• In person: While the church is closed, checks may be placed in the secure black mailbox located off the south parking lot. These will be retrieved in time to count as 2025 giving.
• By mail: Checks must be postmarked by December 31.
• Online: Gifts may be made online any time before midnight on December 31.
• Stock gifts: Must arrive in Wilshire’s Fidelity account by today, December 30. Please email Shaffon Alexander for account information.
As we prepare to turn the calendar and step into a new year, I leave you with “The Work of Christmas” by Howard Thurman. May it remind us that while the season may end, the holy and life-giving work continues. May we begin again — renewed, committed and hopeful — as we carry this sacred work forward together.
“When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among others,
To make music in the heart.”
