Wilshire’s new pastoral residents, Amanda Hines (at right in photo) and Jordann McMahan, began their two-year terms on Friday, Aug. 1, They join Maggie Morey and Georgia McKee in the Pathways to Ministry program, which again has four residents — the historical norm for the program. No new residents were called in 2022 or 2023 as Wilshire paused to evaluate the program.
Amanda earned a Master of Divinity degree with a spiritual formation concentration from Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University in 2022 and more recently worked for Ideal Impact, a consultancy for ministry and education. She served in ministerial or intern roles at churches in Texas and Alabama, worked for Truett managing its Online Certificate Program and was a counselor at Glorieta Camps in New Mexico. Amanda earned a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and is married to Chris.
Jordann completed a Master of Divinity degree in May from Truett, where she was a CBF Vestal Scholar, co-led the Women in Ministry Student Organization, worked in recruitment and served as a Baylor residence hall chaplain. She also was an intern for Baptist Women in Ministry. Jordann grew up in Virginia and was ordained by her home church there. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University and has been a ministry associate or intern at churches in Virginia and Texas.
Amanda and Jordann are both licensed spiritual directors through Truett.
When Wednesday night activities resume Aug. 20, the 6 p.m. Bible Study time will be devoted to getting to know the new residents. They will also be introduced at the first Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, Sept. 3. On Wednesday, Aug. 27, all four residents will lead a Vespers service in McIver Chapel at 6 p.m.
