Tell us about your family.
My wife Allison and I were married in 1994. We’ve lived in Lake Highlands since moving to Dallas in 2004. Our two young adult kids, Scott and Caroline, both live and work in Dallas.
How about your work or volunteer life?
After working at Texas Instruments for 20 years in various finance, operations and treasury roles, I left in 2024 to take the CFO role at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas. For someone who grew up as a “Y kid,” it is a happy culmination of a finance career and a desire to serve others. I am proud to work for an organization that puts Christian values into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Any favorite hobbies?
I am a middling golfer and a fantastic fan of all things Longhorn.
Where are your favorite places to travel?
I like traveling to places with unique historical stories to tell. When I worked at TI, I traveled throughout Asia, and I especially enjoyed Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. More recently, we’ve traveled to Europe on vacation, spending time in the UK, France and Italy.
What brought you to Wilshire and when?
In 2019, our former church had an unexpected change in leadership, so we began looking for a new church home. Allison was familiar with George’s sermons from radio and YouTube, and Caroline had friends in the youth group, so Wilshire seemed like a natural fit.
Where are you engaged at Wilshire?
We are members of the Journey Class.
What do you think God is up to in your life?
I don’t presume to know, but I do think God has given me the ability to put myself in a position where I am able to serve — indirectly — hundreds of thousands of people in Metropolitan Dallas through my stewardship of the YMCA.
Tell us about your faith journey.
Growing up Methodist, I learned at an early age that it’s OK to ask questions and to face your doubts directly. I think that has served me well as an adult, as a husband and as a father.
What is something interesting most people would not know about you?
Matthew McConaughey is my fraternity brother.
