Tell us about your family.
My husband, Peter, and I have been married for 22 years. We have three kids, Jake (20), Levi (16), and Jordan (9).

How about your work or volunteer life?
After starting my career in marketing in 1998, I retired from the professional world in 2005 when our first son, Jake, was born. I currently volunteer at Mockingbird Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School and Woodrow Wilson High School. I also enjoy being on the board of the Young Men’s Service League.

Any favorite hobbies?
I love cooking, learning golf, walking our dogs, being in nature, traveling, live music, remodeling old homes, reading and finding antique treasures. Mostly spending time with family and friends.

What are your favorite places to travel?
I love Texas road trips and the charm of small towns. Our family has great memories from trips to Port Aransas; Santa Fe; Durango, Colorado; San Antonio; Missoula, Montana; and most recently Paris, France.

What brought you to Wilshire and when?
We came in 2009. Peter and I both grew up Baptist but attended First United Methodist downtown after we got married. We moved close to Wilshire and were excited to reconnect to our Baptist roots.

What do you think God is up to in your life right now?
I have lost a lot of my family the last few years — my stepdad, grandmother, mom and recently my dad. It has been a lot for our family, but I feel God near me. My priorities are focused on the here and now and the health and well-being of my family, friends and community. God is placing opportunities for new adventure in my life, and I’m excited to see his visions unfold.

Tell us about your faith journey.
I have grown up in a family of faith. But, my grandmother “Gran” was especially instrumental in teaching me about God, the Bible and bringing me with her to church.

What is something interesting most people would not know about you?
I worked for the Byron Nelson Golf Classic for four years after graduating from Texas Tech. I met so many interesting people from all over the world. That first job out of college led me to take a trip by myself to Costa Rica for a Spanish immersion course and live with a host family. This job also lead me to meeting my husband!

What adjectives best describe you?
Genuine, friendly, humble, kind, compassionate, resilient, optimistic, trustworthy, creative and lively.
