Pastoral Resident Georgia McKee has accepted a call to become associate pastor at Glencoe Union Church near Chicago. Her last day at Wilshire will be Jan. 25.
Georgia will lead Glencoe’s youth and mission ministries while participating in worship leadership and preaching. Located in the village of Glencoe, just north of Chicago on the shore of Lake Michigan, Glencoe Union is a interdenominational church in the Protestant tradition.
“This announcement is bittersweet in all of the best ways,” Georgia said. “Sophia and I are thrilled for the new adventure, and we will always carry deep gratitude for Wilshire’s incredible kindness and love throughout my residency. This community has filled me with rich experiences and wisdom to guide me in this next phase of my ministry. GUC feels like a cousin to Wilshire — it’s a vibrant interdenominational church that welcomes people across Christian traditions and backgrounds. It’s a unique space where my Baptist-ness and theological nerdiness will get to flourish!”
Georgia, who began her Wilshire residency in August 2024, is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Divinity and Belmont University. She previously worked in communications for the Baptist Joint Committee.
All are invited to an ordination service for Georgia here at Wilshire on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary.
