Amanda Hines and Jordann McMahan, both graduates of Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University, have been hired as Wilshire’s next class of pastoral residents and will begin their two-year terms in August.

Amanda and Jordann will join Maggie Morey and Georgia McKee in the Pathways to Ministry program, which will again have four pastoral residents — the norm for most of the program’s 23-year history. No new residents were called in 2022 or 2023 as Wilshire paused to evaluate the program.

“We couldn’t be more pleased that Amanda and Jordann will be joining us. Both of them are most talented and eager to learn,” said Pathways to Ministry Director Charlie Fuller. “With a full complement of four residents, we’ll be back up and running with all the opportunities our complete program provides.”

Jordann McMahan

Jordann will complete a Master of Divinity degree in May from Truett, where she was honored as a CBF Vestal Scholar for the current academic year. She currently is co-president of Truett’s Women in Ministry Student Organization, serves as a Baylor residence hall chaplain and previously worked for Truett as an associate director of recruitment. She also was an administrative intern for Baptist Women in Ministry. Jordann grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and was ordained by her home church there, Gayton Baptist. She earned a B.A. in philosophy with a concentration in religious studies from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Jordann has been a ministry associate at Freemason Street Baptist and Talbot Park Baptist, both in Norfolk, and is currently completing mentoring field work at Calvary Baptist in Waco.

Amanda Hines

Amanda earned a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in spiritual formation from Truett in 2022 and currently works as a project manager for Ideal Impact, a Grapevine-based consultancy for ministry and education. She served as associate pastor for youth and community engagement at Kingwood Christian Church in Houston and completed internships in student ministry at Lubbock’s Highland Baptist Church and her home church, First Baptist in Huntsville, Alabama. Amanda also worked for Truett helping to manage its Online Certificate Program and was a summer counselor at Glorieta Camps in New Mexico. She earned a B.S. in human development and family science from Mississippi State University. Amanda is married to Chris; the couple currently lives in Arlington with their corgi, Tater-Tot.

Jordann and Amanda are both licensed spiritual directors through Truett.

The third and fourth houses from the church on Resident Row are currently under renovation and will be ready for the new residents when they arrive this summer. Charlie added, “Please pray for Jordann and Amanda as they finish up their current commitments and make their transition to Dallas and a new place of service.”

Wilshire’s pastoral residency program began in 2002 and now counts 40 alumni serving around the U.S. and overseas, including Wilshire’s own senior pastor, Timothy Peoples.
