Thanks to strong year-end giving, Wilshire ended 2024 with a financial surplus of $501,329 — believed to be our largest surplus ever. Our budget for 2024 was $3,925,000, and revenue through Dec. 31 totaled $4,087,665. Meanwhile, expenses for the year came in under budget at $3,586,336.
In a Dec. 31 email to the church, Senior Pastor Timothy Peoples wrote, “Thank you so much for the ways you have shared and given to our Unified Budget. We are now able to walk into the new year on a good footing.”
Wilshire began December 2024 needing $1,012,388 to meet budgeted income and wound up receiving $1,175,053 during the month, a $166,863 increase over giving during December 2023.
In Wilshire’s Unified Budget approach, funds received over the revenue budget are applied at the discretion of the Finance Committee. More information about plans for the surplus will be shared at the Annual Church Conference on Jan. 26, as will a proposed budget for 2025.
