Masks Now Optional for Vaccinated

Masks now optional for vaccinated.

Thanks to positive COVID-19 trends, including declines in positivity rate, overall case numbers and hospitalizations, the COVID-19 Advisory Task Force has determined that Wilshire can safely return to a mask-optional policy for all fully vaccinated people. Masks will remain required for unvaccinated persons.

This policy applies to adults and vaccine-eligible children (those 5 and older). Preschoolers ages 2 to 4 are still required to mask, and our preschool teachers and workers will remain masked as well.

As happy as this news is, the return of coffee and other beverages on Sunday morning is probably the happiest news of all. You are also welcome to bring in outside food or drinks.

We will continue Koinonia Café To Go on Wednesdays, and while we will not resume Wednesday evening hot-meal service at this time, we will resume our 5 p.m. Family Dinner in Community Hall. So make sure to place your orders and join others on Wednesday evenings for community and connection. Other food and hospitality services will also resume, including individually packaged meals for meetings and other gatherings held at Wilshire.

Associate Pastor Heather Mustain says, “One of the hardest conversations we continue to have as a task force is how do we, at this point, find our way forward. The back and forth has been extremely taxing on us all and we remain deeply grateful for Wilshire and its support of making our gatherings as safe as possible.”
