Easter Sunrise Service 2026

April5, 2026, 6:45 a.m. | T.&P. Hill

Greeting and Call to Worship — Jordann McMahan

All are invited to read the bold text aloud.

We gather today in the darkened sanctuary of God’s creation, anticipating flickers of the light of resurrection life. We set our faces toward the Son and celebrate together:

Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!
Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!
Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed!

Hymn: Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee

Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,
Singing bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in thee.

Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living, ocean-depth of happy rest!
Thou our God and Christ our Brother — all who live in love are thine;
Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.

Prayer — Amanda Hines

Parting Hymn: Christ the Lord Is Risen Today

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven join to say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing ye heavens and earth reply, Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

Lives again our glorious king, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying once he all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Soar we now where Christ has led, Alleluia!
Following our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like him, like him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

We are delighted you have joined us for worship on this Easter Sunday morning. Whether you regularly attend a community of faith or none at all, we welcome you into the fellowship of the body of Christ.

Wilshire Baptist Church, located at 4316 Abrams Road, is a justice-oriented, fully inclusive faith community where everyone is welcome and valued for who they are — a place where the beauty of God’s creation is celebrated and a place where we will name that the world is broken. We meet for worship weekly at 11 a.m., with Sunday School for all ages at 9:45 a.m. Our senior pastor is Timothy Peoples. wilshirebc.org

Northway Christian Church, located at 7202 West Northwest Highway, seeks to be a bridge toward hope as we form partnerships on campus, online and around our community under the leadership of Rev. Virzola Law-Allen, senior pastor. We are honored and grateful for the chance to serve alongside our neighbors on this glorious Easter morning. northwaychristian.org
