Minister of Music Search Committee sets focus groups.

Before the busy summer season begins, the Minister of Music Search Committee needs your assistance. Your thoughts and ideas are very important to us as we search for the right person to serve as our next minister of music. Through a series of focus group sessions, we hope to hear from you about your dreams for the future of Wilshire’s ministry through music.

We realize this may seem like a fast timeline with the first group occurring on Sunday, May 21, and we appreciate your understanding as we want to provide opportunities for input before school is out. We hope your schedule will allow your attendance at one of the focus group sessions, and you are welcome to attend more.

Each music group — Carillon Ringers, New Song, Sanctuary Choir (with Nova), Wilshire Winds, Youth Choir/Shekinah — will have focus group time scheduled during one of their upcoming rehearsals. We also will be seeking input from music ministry leadership. Another way to provide input is through a congregational survey, which will be available in a few weeks. The survey will include additional questions not covered in the focus groups. Keep watching the Tapestry for survey information.

We greatly appreciate your continued prayers during this time.

— Kevin Cabaniss, Lynette DeBose, David Duncan, Anne Foster, LeAnn Hampton, Mary Morgan, Timothy Peoples, Kristi Reavis, James Michael Sobolik-Williams, Laura Summers, Melinda Thompson
