Tell us about your family.
My family consists of me, my mom, Dawn, my dad, Michael, and my dog, Walter.
Tell us about your volunteer life.
I volunteer mostly wherever the Wilshire youth group is. I try to make it to wherever Tuesday Missions are hosted and volunteer for the camps Wilshire hosts, when I’m in town. Other than that, I mostly volunteer at school-hosted opportunities.
What are your aspirations for the future?
In the future, I want to go to college and major in film development. The behind-the-scenes of movies has always piqued my interest, and I would love to help translate movies from script to the big screen.
What are your favorite hobbies?
In school, I participate in Woodrow’s theater productions, and I’m in Variations, Woodrow’s show choir. Outside of school, I participate in the Greater Dallas Choral Society, hang out with friends and read all the time.
Where are you engaged in Wilshire?
I’m involved in Wilshire Student Ministries, and I sing in Youth Choir and Shekinah.
What has surprised you most about Wilshire?
I’ve been at Wilshire since I was about one year old, so I can’t say that much has surprised me. However, the love that Wilshire never fails to show to people within the church and outside of it always amazes me. As I’ve grown more involved in the life of our church, I’ve had the privilege to be a part of a loving community like our youth group. WSM is a place I know I can always rely on, no matter what is going on in my life, good or bad.
What do you think God is up to in your life right now?
I think God is giving me good people who remind me daily that I am good just as I am. In the youth group, we have a saying: “You are uniquely created in the image of God and worthy of love.” I have felt that recently more than ever because of the people I’m surrounding myself with.
Who are the greatest influences in your life shaping who you are today?
The friends I surround myself with shape how I present myself and interact with others. My parents and teachers have taught me things that continue to change how I think and react. So many people throughout my life have brought different perspectives to think about that continue to shape me as a person.
