Carol Cabaniss will celebrate her five-year anniversary as a Wilshire staffer on Nov. 17.
As ministry assistant in the areas of education and spiritual formation, Carol supports the work of Associate Pastor Darren DeMent, Minister to Preschoolers Joan Hammons, Minister to Children Julie Girards and Minister to Senior Adults Jessica Capps.
“I get a lot of energy from the people I work with,” Carol says. “I like helping make sure things are organized and that projects are thought out so they’re done well.”
Girards says, “Carol is such a great person to work with. She knows what I need before I even ask. She’s thoughtful, thorough, efficient and professional, and she’s a great friend.”
Carol joined Wilshire in 1992, and she and her husband, Kevin, have raised three kids here: Peyton (23), Tanner (20) and Trace (17). “It was seamless to start working at the church,” she says, “because I had served all that time before, and then with the kids growing up in all the different ministries.”
DeMent adds, “Carol is able to offer an additional perspective that is so helpful in the student ministry. I know I can go to her as a sounding board and she will give me an honest assessment of how parents may respond or react.”
