WILSHIRE’S

Early Childhood Learning Center

The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) at Wilshire is a licensed early care program in Dallas and has been serving children for more than 25 years. Our preschool program is conveniently located in the Lakewood area, near the heart of Dallas, for easy access. We offer a comprehensive approach to education for early learners who turn 3 months old by Sept. 1. Typically, children who enter and complete our ECLC preschool are prepared socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and cognitively to move into a kindergarten setting.

On Nov. 7, 2024, Wilshire announced its decision to close ECLC after the current school year ends on May 15, 2025. There will be no registration for the 2025–26 school year or the 2025 summer session.

Dates and times

ECLC is a part-year, part-day program. Our program operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for all ages. Our 2024-2025 school year began Sept. 3, 2024, and will end on May 15, 2025.

Our curriculum

Wilshire’s ECLC teachers take a structured yet individualized approach to learning. The Frog Street curriculum is a research- and brain-based curriculum. It allows our teachers to use age-appropriate learning activities while providing experiences in language development, cognitive development, social-emotional development and physical development. This helps prepare children for a successful transition to school after finishing ECLC. Developmentally appropriate activities lay the foundation for language, reading, writing and math skills. Our program emphasizes the exploration of God’s world and God’s love for us along with the development of social and emotional skills.
