Children’s Choir moving to Sundays.
Wilshire’s choirs for children in kindergarten through grade 6 will now meet on Sundays after worship instead of Wednesday evenings; a new program – KidConnect – will now fill the Wednesday slot (see below). For children’s choirs on Sunday, kids will enjoy a free snack lunch in Community Hall before choirs meet from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Children’s Choir begins on Promotion Sunday, Aug. 21. For preschoolers, Music, Missions and More will remain on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Children’s Choir Coordinator Candy McComb says, “This change should allow more families to enjoy our outstanding program! In the past, many folks found consistent participation on Wednesdays to be challenging. Due to traffic, those living farther from the church have difficulty eating and arriving by 6. Also, many kids have school and sports activities during the week. We hope the change will alleviate some of those issues, as it did for Youth Choir when it moved to the same time slot.”
Wednesdays: KidConnect
On Wednesdays at 6 p.m., Wilshire will offer a new experience for K – 6 children: KidConnect will feature a rotation of fun activities that will help kids learn how to love God and others with every part of themselves. Each week will be different, with activities including art, music, recreation, science, puppets and cooking. KidConnect begins Aug. 24 when Wednesday evening activities resume.
