Michele Stinecipher marks five years on staff.
Ministry Assistant Michele Stinecipher recently celebrated her five-year anniversary on the Wilshire staff. Michele started at the church in 2016 as a part-time workroom attendant. She later transitioned to a full-time role as assistant to Associate Pastor Mark Wingfield, also taking on responsibilities in human resources. When the staff was reorganized after Mark’s departure in 2020, Michele kept her HR duties and became the ministry assistant for worship and music.
Associate Pastor Doug Haney says, “Michele is deeply committed to music and administrative ministries. She brings enthusiasm, attention to detail and a willing spirit to every task and project. I am grateful she is part of our staff team.”
Michele’s responsibilities include calling on lay people to lead in worship, developing the order of service and printing the worship folder. She manages the set-up for rehearsals and services and is the main point of contact for Sanctuary flower arrangements. Michele supports adult music groups including Sanctuary Choir, Nova, Carillon Ringers and Wilshire Winds.
On the HR side, Michele handles employee time-away requests, keeps track of vacation hours and works with the church financial office to process paperwork for new hires. She also serves as wedding coordinator.
Michele says she likes “knowing the intricate ins and outs of how the church works.” She adds, “When I started working in the workroom and was printing the worship folders, it made me feel good knowing that I’m distributing this to my church family — that I had a hand in this, that I made it happen.”
Michele’s mother is Barbara Clayton, who also works as a Wilshire ministry assistant. Since last year’s reorganization, Michele now handles many tasks formerly done by Barbara. Michele says, “Learning my mom’s skills of organization has helped me in this job. She set a good template for everything.”
A Wilshire member since 1994, Michele has long been active in music ministry, singing in Sanctuary Choir and playing handbells with Carillon Ringers. She also teaches 1-year-olds in Sunday School, is on the Belong Team and is active in Women of Wilshire. She and her husband Brian are members of Seekers Class. Michele also volunteers at the Grief and Loss Center of North Texas, where she works with children as a group facilitator.
